Freelancing – A job which is your own

Freelancing is freedom

Having a stable job is really difficult in these ever-changing times. Even skilled individuals are facing problems. Having done all kinds of odd jobs I know it right to the core. However ever since I started to work part-time first and then fully as a freelancer, the things have turned. I work as per my schedule, and have enough time to spend time with family. I never knew about my writing talent till I started writing. It has been rewarding 12 months with lots of satisfaction. There have been many things I did correctly and want to share those.

Started Consulting – Before starting writing in full flow I started to consult people on various topic. I set up my website for answering questions for money. It was just fun but slowly people flocked to my website. Believe me I never did any SEO or marketing.

Blogging – I also started a blog for people who wanted to know about gardening. I am an expert after doing it myself. For the blog popularity I made a YouTube video upload. Very soon I started earning there as well.

Category SEO texts – Slowly learning the basics like HTML and Word Press helped me on the writing front. I wrote many category texts and got paid really well for them.

Local clients – Now after 12 months I have some local clients as well. I write columns for magazines, newspaper and also do guest blogging. Never thought I could do so much and still be at home!

Now I am looking forward for starting my own venture, as I have learnt the tricks of the trade. So folks do not wait explore the freelance territory.

Dissatisfaction in Job

Everybody some time has discussed about satisfaction towards job. But Do we know the meaning of this word? It may be defined as A Collection of feelings that an individual holds towards his or her job. We will try to understand the opposite that is Job Dissatisfaction and the responses of employees and its effect on performance of the organization. In course we will try to answer questions which has come to everybody’s mind but never asked. The first question that comes to us is – Why people are satisfied/dissatisfied from their respective jobs?

There can not be one answer. Every body has his/her own reasons. However the responses are only four kinds – Voice, Loyalty, Neglect or Exit.

What are the reasons for dissatisfaction towards job?

We can list a few of the major reasons as this list is long.

  1. Lack of Growth
  2. Compensation
  3. Desire for change
  4. Immediate Superior
  5. Policies of the Organization
  6. Work Culture
  7. Job – Person Fit.

When employees are dissatisfied they can express  their dissatisfaction in a number of ways. They may quit, complain, neglect responsibility or steal organizational property.

Four responses to Job Dissatisfaction

Response to Job Dissatisfaction

The above figure depicts that all the responses may be categorized into four broad categories that differ from one another along two dimensions : Constructive/Destructive and Active/Passive.

If somebody feels uncomfortable he/she calls for help. Is it correct? Similar is the case of a dissatisfied employee. When he/she first time feels dissatisfied he/she will try to consult their superior regarding the same – and Voice  his/her  concerns. This is a constructive process and the person is actively involved in this activity.

Complaints can have two responses – voices are listened to or are just ignored. If voices are listened to the dissatisfaction is removed, however if it is ignored it can have two responses. The person become passive and follows the proverb “ What cannot be cured must be endured” and lies low. This is termed as Loyalty. The other response is to stop working at full potential due to dissatisfaction and start to  Neglect. The response ultimately leads to Exit from the current organization.

Earn at Home via Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate marketing Program?

Affiliate marketing has made people millionaires. It’s about understanding what is an affiliate marketing program and consequently understanding how to earn money by it. You just need to promote someone’s product, and you do not need to sell anything. So, how does it work?

How Affiliate marketing Works?

There are many things you need to work on before joining it.

  1. First you need to have your own blog which is popular or a website with good traffic. It is not a necessity but good to have.
  2. After achieving the above you join an affiliate marketing program. The program will give you options of products and offers. The offer may be an online product or service or an offer to buy from an online store. There are many such offers available.
  3. After choosing the offer you get a unique link generated from the marketer. You have to use this link to promote this offer.
  4.  If someone who visits your website, blog or Facebook page clicks and purchases the offer you get a commission.

The commission keeps on collecting, and you will get paid weekly or monthly depending on the company.

  1. The system of Affiliate marketingThere are four kinds of people involved. (1) Merchant – The person who owns a shop for selling products. He might be selling online or have retail shop as well. (2)Publisher – Someone who is having a great blog on the product category, which has interested readers. (3) Customer – Someone who visits publisher site/blog and clicks the affiliate network link and makes the purchase. (4) Affiliate Network – They provide platform for Merchant and Publisher to connect. In case of companies like Ferratum they have their own affiliate network program. These four people benefit from each other.

Should You Pay More to Starter Employees?

first time employees

Billions of people on the planet attempt to work hard, and the vast majority are grossly underpaid in comparison to those cushy CEO jobs that don’t require much heavy lifting. This is often called inequality, and so many people expect to be paid more in order to close that gap. But if you’re a business owner, should you pay your employees more money to start out?

Sure, it might seem great to start out at $10 or more/hour, but when employers pay that up front, the next levels up are only going to be $11 and $12. Whereas starting lower, the company has more money, and when you do get a raise, you truly get a rise – up to $16 or higher.

Another reason is that it cuts out the idea of summer jobs or starter jobs. If you own a small ice cream shop and decide to pay everyone a minimum of $10/hour, who are you going to hire? Are you going to hire a kid out of high-school who wants a summer job, or are you going to look for more experience and someone who can add more to the company?

While people do deserve to be paid more money, It seems to me that starting people out on higher wages for beginner-level jobs will end up hurting people through intended consequences.

Weird jobs

I had plenty of ‘odd jobs’ when I was growing up, usually baby-sitting, mowing the lawn or painting a fence, but none of those odd jobs were ‘weird’. There are a lot of jobs out there you’ve probably never heard of, let alone done; how about odor sniffers, tampon testers, barbie dress designers, bingo managers or professional mourners? There are more bizarre jobs out there than you could imagine. I think one of the most gag-able jobs is pet food testing – a group of adventurous eaters chow down on pet food, remarking on everything from texture to tartness just to make sure little Mitsy and Rover have the most enjoyable meal possible. I don’t understand how the testers are supposed to know what animals will prefer, but I guess that comes with owner feedback, market research and plenty of kibble chewing experience. Eeew. Sticking with the theme of food, you probably already know that food is tarted up for the cameras by food stylists, from using Evian spray to make that can of soda look utterly thirst-quenching to white paint to make cream look, well…creamier.

There are some really weird jobs in the world

Hard work is not to be sniffed at

Predictably, jobs relating to the body can be pretty weird too. I hope that breath odor evaluators get well paid, their job consists of smelling yucky morning breath or breath inflicted with strong scents, like garlic or coffee. They rate the breath on a scale from one to nine, one being the worst, then to test odor-reducing products like gum or mouthwash, they smell the breath again and give it a new rating. An equally unappealing job is that of armpit odor testers, who check the efficacy of deodorants and antiperspirants by sniffing participants’ armpits, hopefully this means we get great products because of their fantastic nostril power. Hmmm, I probably should have called this post ‘the world’s grossest jobs’.

The best job in the world?

In May 2009, a 34-year-old British man called Ben Southall was offered what was hailed as “the best job in the world”. To be honest, I think I’ve fallen for the hype, it was a pretty sweet deal if you like nature and sports. The job was located on a tropical island in Queensland, Australia, and involved looking after the island for six months, as well as doing every activity that tourism offered in Queensland – surfing, sailing, flying and diving to name just a few. Obviously the main idea was to promote tourism in that region, but the job also came with a great salary and a beach-side three bedroom luxury villa with a private swimming pool, not to mention transportation in the form of a golf buggy.

Ben Southall won the best job in the world promoting Queensland

It’s probably no surprise that more than 34,000 people from all over the world applied for the job….some pretty good marketing for the tourism board right there! Applicants had to make one minute videos to show why they were the ideal candidate for the job, the finalists were eventually whittled down to just 16 people (including TV presenters, actors, students and teachers). They travelled to Queensland to take part in different physical and mental activities, and on the basis of these tests Ben got the job. On his video application Ben impressed the panel by his money-raising activities in Africa, experience as a writer and tour guide, love of animals and physical agility. Ben loved the job, but it wasn’t exactly a holiday – he would work up to nineteen hours a day, seven days a week. By the time the job finished, he had visited 90 different locations, made 47 video diaries and given more than 250 interviews. Tourism Queensland must have been pretty impressed with him though, as soon as the job finished they offered him a new 18-month contract to travel all over the world promoting Queensland. Now, I’d say that was the best job in the world.
